John Lee

Born in South Korea, John Lee served as both guitarist and vocalist for the Korean band OVERHEAD for five years. During this time, he released six albums and composed more than half of the band’s songs, including one selected as the theme song for the Korean animation “Kulumetara.”

John has performed at numerous shows both in Korea and abroad, including the “2016 World Cross Border Festival,” “Buster Call” (hosted by OVERHEAD), and “Seoul Summer Rock Festival” in Korea, as well as “ichiro Chain of Blues,” “Tokyo ACBHALL,” and “Kingsx” in Japan.

As a versatile singer-songwriter, John writes lyrics in Korean, Japanese, and English while handling all composition and arrangement for his music. He is proficient in multiple instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, and piano. His musical repertoire spans diverse genres such as rock, ballad, pop, R&B, and instrumental pieces. John also personally creates all visual elements for his album covers and music videos.

In 2018, he launched his solo career as a singer-songwriter in Japan, performing in shows including Wednesday Heart, First Eye, Second Eye, Third Eye, and Time in Tokyo vol. 4-7, while sharing his Japanese releases across social media platforms. In 2024, he began a new chapter as a member of the R&B project ismechild.

韓国生まれ。韓国のバンドOVERHEADで5年間ギタリストそしてボーカルを務める。活動から3年目に自作曲が初めてアルバムに収録される。脱退までの5年間に発表したアルバム6枚のうち、半数以上の作詞作曲を手がける。その間、韓国アニメ「グルメタラ」の主題歌にも抜擢される。

国内外の多様な公演に参加経験あり。韓国では「2016 World Cross Border Festival」、Overheadが主宰する「Buster Call」、世界各国の有名バンドが集う「Seoul Summer Rock Festival」に出演。日本では2016年に米子AZTiC laughsでの「ichiro Chain of Blues」、2017年には東京ACBHALLとKingsxにて公演を行う。

シンガーソングライターとして、作詞作曲、編曲のすべてを手がける。ギター、ベース、ドラム、ピアノといった基本的な楽器はすべて演奏できるが、歌が中心。扱うジャンルも幅広く、ロック、バラード、ポップ、R&B、インストゥルメンタルの作品がある。日本語、英語、韓国語のトリリンガルであり、完成したメロディに合わせて自由に言語を行き来しながら歌詞をつける。SNSに投稿する写真や映像、アルバムジャケットなども自ら制作する。

2018年に来日し、SNSでの活動や路上ライブに加え、「Wednesday Heart」「見えるもの見えざるもの」リリースライブ、「ファーストアイ」「セカンドアイ」「サードアイ」「Time in Tokyo vol.4〜7」などのライブにも参加。そして2024年には新しいR&Bプロジェクト「ismechild」のメンバーとしての活動も開始している。
